together_v3_page_1_300Join us for an evening that features Jazz singer Milla Milojkovic returning to her roots and joining forces with Sidro tamburasi. The evening is topped off by the band Janam with its funky meters, bittersweet modes, driving tunes, and sultry ballads.Ethnic food at 7:30PM by Hristo Kolev.

Milla Milojkovic: Born to a Croatian mother who grew up in Bosnia, and a Serbian father, folk music and culture was a prominent feature of her youth.  Milla has worked and recorded with artists such as Larry Vuckovich, Adam Shulman, Noel Jewkes, John Wiitala, and Dayna Stephens.  Milla enjoys the creative freedoms of jazz, and believes that there is a true synthesis between jazz and Balkan music, for both genres welcome improvisation and require chops.

Sidro: Performing on traditional tamburitza instruments,
this California based group presents a wide spectrum of musical influence, including
folk, pop, rock, country and gypsy music, sung in the romantic Croatian dialect
of the Dalmatian coast. The band's name means "Anchor" and symbolizes their affinity to the Adriatic sea and the cultural connection that music provides to them.

Janam (“My Soul”): creates a compelling, eclectic mix of Balkan, Romani, Sephardic and American roots music plus originals. Led by Kitka Women’s Vocal Ensemble veteran Juliana Graffagna, the ensemble features virtuosic Bay Area players including Dan Auvil, Geri Hegedus, Tom Ferris and Greg Jenkins.
