  Friday , Mar 11, 2005         8:00 PM

Event Details

Milla Milojkovic is a Bay Area native who has studied music all her twenty seven years of life. She debuted at the age of five as a Balkan folk singer, going on to study opera at Manhattan School of Music and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

Milla released her debut jazz CD, "Dream a little..." last June, and it has since received airplay on hundreds of jazz radio stations nationwide. Milla's unique vocal style combines the wealth of musical influences that she has cultivated throughout her life: Balkan soul, classical training and musicianship, and the elegance and restraint of an old-time alto jazz vocalist.

With her she brings a host of talented jazz musicians; Michael Miloslavich Parsons, an accomplished pianist and arranger; Josh Holdridge, a bassist in the U.S. Air Force band; Andre Sumelius, a Finnish drummer who in 2003 won the Grammy for Best Jazz Album; Lauren Benedict, an astonishing vocal musician; and last but certainly not least, the legendary Noel Jewkes, one of the most prominent saxophonists of the West Coast Jazz tradition.
