Sani Rifati

About

The president of Voice of Roma, Sani Rifati, is a Rom from Kosovo.  He is an International Human Rights Monitor, a writer, a public speaker, the producer of the annual Herdeljez Festival, a drummer, a dancer, and a teacher.  He has helped educate and raise the awareness of the public in the United States about Romani folk arts, and has been a strong advocate for preserving the traditional folk music, songs, and dances of his culture.  He is a strong believer in creating community through his people’s spirit of sharing music, dance, oral histories, food and drink.
